Summary

Over time, certain parts of the server may need to be re-seated to restore normal function. This article cover re-seating the RAM modules and the CMOS battery in legacy WRR-5501s.

• Two screws hold the lid to the chassis, one on each side.
• Once the lid screws are removed, you can open the lid to the chassis interior without damaging the lid.

Re-seating the RAM Modules

To re-seat the RAM modules:

1. Press on the white tabs to release the memory modules.
2. Re-insert the memory modules.
3. Comfirm that the modules are are secure.
   

CMOS Battery Re-seating

To re-seat the CMOS battery:

1. Disconnect the server power cord from the AC power source.
2. Disconnect all peripheral devices connected to the server chassis.
3. Remove the lid.
4. Find the battery on the board.
5. Remove the battery.
6. Wait 1–5 minutes.
7. Reconnect the battery.
8. Put the system cover back on.
9. Restore AC power to the server.
10. Re-connect the peripherals to the server.
11. Power up the server.
