Summary
Over time, certain parts of the server may need to be re-seated to restore normal function. This article cover re-seating the RAM modules and the CMOS battery in legacy WRR-5501s.
- Two screws hold the lid to the chassis, one on each side.
- Once the lid screws are removed, you can open the lid to the chassis interior without damaging the lid.
Re-seating the RAM Modules
To re-seat the RAM modules:
- Press on the white tabs to release the memory modules.
- Re-insert the memory modules.
- Comfirm that the modules are are secure.
CMOS Battery Re-seating
To re-seat the CMOS battery:
- Disconnect the server power cord from the AC power source.
- Disconnect all peripheral devices connected to the server chassis.
- Remove the lid.
- Find the battery on the board.
- Remove the battery.
- Wait 1–5 minutes.
- Reconnect the battery.
- Put the system cover back on.
- Restore AC power to the server.
- Re-connect the peripherals to the server.
- Power up the server.
