Summary
There are instances in which the password must be reset for WAVE and WAVE Sync. This article covers the requirements and steps to reset your password.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum password security requirements:
- Must be at least 8 characters
- Must contain at least two different types of characters (e.g., lowercase + uppercase, lowercase + number, lowercase + special character)
- Cannot match any of the 1000 most popular passwords (there is a list of unpermitted words that is updated with each release)
NOTE: Although WAVE does not allow users to modify the password requirements,
users with LDAP/Active Directory integration can enforce their own password
policy for their organization.
Resetting WAVE Passwords
To reset the password for WAVE Sync-connected systems:
- Open the built-in password function, or click Restore Password.
The Reset Password screen appears.
- Enter your email address, then click Reset Password.
The system sends an email and you are asked to enter a new password.
NOTE: For systems not connected to WAVE Sync, the System Owner or System Admin
must reset the password.
NOTE: If the Owner password is lost, the system must be re-installed.
